The story of the 2024 season has to be all about unpredictable results, especially when it comes to intersectional matchups. We saw, for example, a really good Villanova Academy of Notre Dame de Namur (Pa.) side with a win, a loss, and a draw this past week, but they’re still in the upper half of the Top 10 because of the qualify of their opposition.
Thing is, there’s a team hanging just outside of our Top 10, one that has been affecting the rankings. That team is Cherry Hill Camden Catholic (N.J.), your defending New Jersey Non-Public champions. The Irish have been playing one of the country’s top schedules this year. This includes not only its own Olympic Conference schedule, but the the National High School Invitational, and numerous top sides such as Woolwich Kingsway (N.J.), Academy of Notre Dame, and two matches against Summit Oak Knoll (N.J.).
Camden Catholic has also scheduled two great matchups later this week; tomorrow against Pottstown Hill School (Pa.) and a Saturday match with North Caldwell West Essex (N.J.). It’s a team that is really fun to watch, and will be for the next few seasons.
Our RightToRightIsRight.com honorary No. 11 Team of the Week is Tufts University, a team from the powerful New England Small College Athletic Conference. Teams in NESCAC have always been strong in women’s athletic competitions, but Tufts’ last major trophy was the 1999 ECAC Championship. But last week, the team stamped itself as a contender for the 2024 national title when it broke Middlebury’s 43-game win streak. This makes today’s games — Tufts-Bowdoin and Middlebury-Williams — critical for conference tournament seeding.

Rams had a third-quarter goal from Abby Gerdeman in a 1-0 win over Villanova Academy of Notre Dame de Namur (Pa.) in a match which could very well be a precursor to the PAISAA Tournament

5. Malvern Villa Maria (Pa.) 18-1
The Hurricanes clinched a PIAA Class AAA tournament berth with a 4-0 win over Souderton (Pa.) Area; the Hurricane take on a good Downington (Pa.) West in the District 1 semifinal round with a possible matchup with Tredyffrin Conestoga (Pa.) in the final
6. Watertown (Mass.) 17-0
Raiders are likely to be the No. 2 seed in the MIAA Division 3 tournament because Sandwich (Mass.) has better rating based on the average of opponents’ ranking; both Watertown and Sandwich are undefeated thus far, and a meeting in the final would be something to see
