Manchester United made headlines on Wednesday afternoon after convincing Leny Yoro to join their project instead of waiting for his supposed dream move to Real Madrid.

The Lille centre-back is understood to be in Manchester now, ready to finalise his transfer to United. The INEOS leadership is receiving plenty of plaudits from the club’s supporters for securing the services of one of the best young talents in Europe ahead of Madrid, Liverpool, and Paris Saint-Germain.

The club’s hierarchy have certainly done well to lure Yoro and address their defensive woes. However, it appears PSG are themselves working hard to sign their own starlet – João Neves, who has been on United’s radar for a long time now.

Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming both United and PSG have had a bid of €70 million rejected for the Benfica prodigy.

The Portuguese outfit have so far suggested the only way for Neves’ suitors to sign him is by triggering his €120 million release clause.

However, reports from France suggest the Ligue 1 champions are determined to push for the Portugal international.

According to L’Équipe, PSG have accelerated their attempts to sign the 19-year-old defensive midfielder.

The newspaper claims the French giants are trying to find an agreement for the player, having opened negotiations through intermediaries. Interestingly, their offer still remains in the region of €70m.

PSG are hopeful of finding a quick resolution. Meanwhile, Neves is waiting for Benfica’s decision.

It remains to be seen how United will react to PSG’s latest efforts. For now though, it seems the Premier League side are prioritising sales before making a concrete move to strengthen their midfield.

Casemiro continues to attract interest from Saudi Pro League clubs. Meanwhile, United reportedly received an offer from Fulham for Scott McTominay.

It is understood the London-based club saw their £17m bid turned down earlier in the transfer window. Now, they are considering making an improved offer for the Scotland international.
