Quarterback Daniel Jones has skidded the past two games as the Giants’ offense has had red zone failure after red zone failure. He’ll be in trouble again in this game as he faces a Steelers defense that has allowed the fifth-fewest FPS (fantasy points) this season to quarterbacks.
Jones is ranked 21st among NFL quarterbacks this season — not a total disaster — but unless the Giants can protect him in this game (he was sacked seven times last week against the Eagles), he’s not a smart play.
Russell Wilson took over the reins from Justin Fields last week after Fields went 4-2 as the Steelers’ starter over the first six games. Head coach Mike Tomlin wanted to open up the vertical passing game and Wilson responded with 24.3 FPS, which was third-best among QBs in Week 7 behind Lamar Jackson and Baker Mayfield.
The Giants have been fairly lenient against quarterbacks this season (23rd), so Wilson will be in a lot of lineups this week.
