Erik ten Hag has suffered a dreadful second season at Manchester United, leaving him under huge pressure at Old Trafford.

INEOS’ recent arrival to take over the sporting structure at the club is expected to trigger major changes in the summer which may include the Dutch coach losing his job.

Despite United’s decline over the last decade, the top job at the Theatre of Dreams remains one of the most sought after positions in world football.

Rumours have been rife with multiple potential suitors being eyed to take over the role should Ten Hag receive his marching orders, with the managerial merry-go-round in full swing.

However, the situation is getting complicated due to the need for multiple top sides to appoint a manager in the summer.

Bayern Munich are one of those clubs that will definitely be appointing a new manager after Thomas Tuchel, one of the names linked with United, announced his decision to step down earlier in the season.

The Peoples Person recently relayed that former United interim coach Ralf Rangnick was poised to take over but news has since broken that the German will be sticking with his current role with the Austrian national team.

After holding talks, Rangnick turned down Bayern stating that he wants to remain “the Austrian team boss with all his heart” and is looking forward to leading the nation out at this summer’s European Championships.

The announcement leaves Bayern still searching for their new man which could also affect United should they also decide on making a change.

INEOS will no doubt have a potential list of candidates drawn up should Ten Hag move on and it’s likely Bayern will be looking at the same names.

The Peoples Person also relayed that Tuchel is open to the idea of a sabbatical if United fail to make their move quickly, leaving INEOS under further pressure.

Should Tuchel decide he will take a break at the end of the season and Bayern snatch United’s next best candidate, INEOS could be left with their third or fourth choice options.

However, Ten Hag’s position remains in situ at Old Trafford and he has the rest of the campaign to convince the decision makers at the club that he is the man to lead them into the new era.

Four Premier League games come before the FA Cup final against Manchester City at the end of the month, which could prove to be the deciding factor whether Ten Hag keeps his job or not.
