Rhys Bennett will head to Fleetwood Town on loan for the 2024/25 season.

Manchester United Football Club have several young talents who’ll have no choice but to play their football elsewhere this term – purely due to the fact that there isn’t space in the dressing room when everyone is fit.

The Old Trafford side have already let the likes of Will Fish and Sonny Aljofree leave on short-term deals and over the last 24 hours, another talented defender has joined them; Rhys Bennett.

Our former youth captain will head to Fleetwood Town on a season-long loan for the 2024/25 season, following his pre-season exploits with the United senior side.

Bennett will now be given the chance to play regular football at the League One level, which will no doubt benefit him in both the long and short term.

Bennett just needs to be playing professional football on a regular basis, in order to help United gauge whether he’s good enough to make it at the club.

I actually believe Bennett is more than good enough. He plays with real maturity and class already and he just needs to take that next step.

Fleetwood Town on loan represents an excellent move for the young Englishman and fingers crossed he can break into their starting line-up sooner rather than later, in order to start getting those minutes that his talent deserves.

Good luck, Rhys!
