RJ Barrett has expressed his excitement about playing for the Toronto Raptors, a dream he describes as “a literal dream come true,” according to David Stol of Sharp Magazine.
Barrett, who enjoyed his time with the New York Knicks, is thrilled about the opportunity to play in Toronto, the city where he spent his childhood.
“I grew up with my dad taking me to games,” Barrett said. “[…] When I found out I was coming home, I didn’t know how to act. I was pinching myself and telling my people, ‘We’re really here. We’re playing for the Toronto Raptors.’”
His return to Toronto became a reality last December when he was traded from the Knicks to the Raptors as part of a five-player deal that involved OG Anunoby.
Barrett’s move to the Raptors is not only a significant career milestone but also a personal one, as it allows him to reconnect with the city that holds fond memories from his early years.
This homecoming adds an extra layer of motivation for Barrett as he starts a new chapter with the Raptors, aiming to make an impact on the team while fulfilling a long-held personal aspiration.
