Famous trainer Robert Garcia says Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz’s fight against Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero was the real main event last Saturday night in PBC’s card at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The event organizers at PBC may have misjudged the amount of interest in the Rolly vs. Cruz fight and scheduled it for the undercard slot instead of the headliner.

Robert feels that the crowd came to see Pitbull Cruz (26-2-1, 18 KOs), and he upstaged the main event with his eighth-round technical knockout of Rolly Romero (15-2, 13 KOs) in a fight that had the crowd on their feet roaring at the end.

In the main event, Sebastian Fundora dethroned WBO junior middleweight Tim Tszyu, but the fight had little in the way of fireworks in comparison to the Cruz vs. Rolly co-feature bout.

Pitbull: A Challenge for Anyone

“No disrespect to Fundora-Tszyu, but Pitbull vs. Rolly was the main event. It should have been the main event,” said Robert Garcia to Fight Hub TV. “I think the whole crowd was there for that fight. Everybody was there cheering for Pitbull. He stole the night.”

Moving forward, Pitbull Cruz will surely be a headliner instead of being put in the chief support bout because his style of fighting is too exciting for him to be put on an undercard unless it’s someone like Gervonta Davis.

“Pitbull, I’m not sure he beats everybody, but he’ll give trouble for everybody. His style is going to give anybody trouble. Even Devin Haney, I don’t think he’s going to have an easy fight against Pitbull, but I think he could control with his jab and his good boxing skills and reach and pull off maybe a decision.

50-50 Fights and the Ideal Matchup

“With the rest of the guys, I think it’s a 50-50 fight. [Subriel] Matias, even though he has tremendous power, Pitbull has a tremendous chin. He’ll take a good punch. He’ll [Pitbull] will throw so many punches from so many angles that I’ll say those are 50-50 fights, even against Teofimo.

“Teofimo, even though he has great skills, Pitbull against Teofimo would be a great fight. I think that’s the best one I want to see, better than anybody. Pitbull, he’s dangerous. Maybe he doesn’t have the same power that Matias has, but he just keeps coming and he’s chopping you down round by round,” said Robert.
