Ryan Garcia is planning on doing some serious damage to WBC light welterweight champion Devin Haney in their fight on April 20h, talking about wanting to “kill him” in their main event bout on DAZN PPV. This is obviously a bit much.
What did Haney do?
Poor Haney must have said something to get Ryan to go apoplectic, talking about wanting to put him on an “oxygen mask” and have him stretchered out of the ring. Ryan is taking his trash talk to a disturbing level, but it shows that he’s not one to be messed with.
Some would argue that the last thing you want to do is agitate a person who is mentally on the edge because they are liable to do anything. When someone snaps, they’re totally unpredictable for what they’ll do.
Haney has stepped in by getting on Ryan’s wrong side with some threats about their April 20th fight at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
How Ryan (24-1, 20 KOs) talks sounds like he’s coming from a different era. If this is part of the promotion, he’s taking it to another level.
“I’m coming to kill him”
“I’m coming to kill him. I pray that he don’t die, but he’s trying to kill me. Yes, people have died in the ring,” said Ryan Garcia on social media about his intentions for Devin Haney on April 20th.
“He better be ready for this s***. It’s almost here; it’s three weeks away. I swing to kill, and I’m not even going to cheat,” Ryan continued. “When I see him in the ring, you guys don’t know what I’m going to do to this mother f***.
“How am I going to get knocked out by Devin Haney when he hasn’t knocked anyone out since 2019? You’re crazy. I’m going to beat the f*** out of him. I’m going to put him in a stretcher, and I’m going to leave no crumbs.
“This ain’t not fight to me. You think this is a boxing match? I’m going to have his daddy putting an oxygen mask on him,” said Ryan.
Hopefully, there’s a good shrink handy at ringside with a couch for some Freudian psychoanalysis on April 20th to listen to Ryan unwind about his violent urges towards Haney.
