Hosted by Izzy Hammond, the series offers a unique perspective as she becomes the newest member of the Showrunners crew. With minimal mechanical experience, Izzy embarks on a steep learning curve, allowing viewers to follow her journey as she dives headfirst into the fast-paced world of F1 and adventure. Throughout the series, Izzy illuminates the incredible work of the team members who travel the globe, executing jaw-dropping stunts and showcasing F1 cars in challenging, awe-inspiring environments. Her fresh perspective adds a layer of relatability and helps shine a light on the incredible effort and skill required behind the scenes.
From a jaw-dropping pit stop on the San Francisco Bay Bridge to performing doughnuts on a helipad atop Dubai’s iconic Burj Al Arab and even driving through a quarry amidst exploding rocks, the Showrunners Team delivers high-octane thrills in some of the world’s most challenging and picturesque locations. Each episode of Showrunners takes viewers on a new adventure, revealing the unique challenges and stories that unfold in every location.
The debut episode, The Polish Drift (parts one and two), is now available, featuring an action-packed event in the vibrant city of Wrocław, Poland. Legendary F1 driver David Coulthard takes the wheel, navigating through various locations in the city, culminating in a spectacular showdown at the speedway track inside the Olympic Stadium, where 14,000 fans eagerly watched the action unfold.
Future episodes promise even more excitement. The next destination? Houston, Texas, where more than 50,000 fans will gather at Discovery Green’s iconic 12-acre park to witness the Red Bull Showrun takeover of downtown Houston. With more epic locations set to be revealed throughout 2024, the series is primed to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
Host Izzy Hammond expressed her excitement about the journey ahead, stating, “I am so excited to be part of this journey with Oracle Red Bull Racing and show everyone behind the scenes of what really goes on and what it takes to work for the Showrunners Team. There is such a cool story to be told, and it was definitely a challenge as someone with little mechanical experience. I was taken under the team’s wing and thrown into this journey with them. My experience has been unforgettable, and we can’t wait to bring this all to people worldwide.”
Tony Burrows, Heritage Team Manager, shared his thoughts on the importance of the Showrun events, saying, “I have been leading the Showrun Team since 2021, having been a part of Red Bull Racing since its inception. Showruns are important in bringing F1 to those who wouldn’t typically see an F1 race, and we pull off some absolutely incredible stunts and events. It’s great to shine a light on the amazing things we do as a team and show that there are opportunities within the company beyond the garage and pit lane. We all continuously push ourselves to the limit every day, and the business is even bigger than what you see on the F1 track.”
Burrows also emphasized the opportunities Showrunners creates for the next generation of mechanics, many of whom begin their careers with the Heritage Team before moving on to the Race Team. As fans tune into the series, they will witness not only the astonishing stunts but also the passion, teamwork, and skill that make Oracle Red Bull Racing a force both on and off the track.
