Steve Claggett faces Teofimo Lopez this weekend
Steve Claggett (38-7-2, 26 KOs) is an athlete who never shies away from a challenge.
On June 29, he will once again prove his mettle as he faces the WBO Super Lightweight champion of the world, American Teofimo Lopez (20-1, 13 KOs).
Fighting in hostile territory in Miami, the Albertan boxer remains fully confident in his ability to deliver a match that could shake up the boxing world.

STEVE CLAGGETT, WBO World Super Lightweight title contender: “I’ve done all my homework in training camp. As Mike Moffa would say, I’ve stacked the odds in my favour. Teofimo Lopez says the hardest worker in the gym will win. That’s perfect, because boxing is my life. I don’t have a wife, I don’t have children, I have boxing, and right now, I’m giving it everything, as I always have. So if it truly comes down to who’s worked the hardest, which I believe it will, I will become world champion on June 29.”

We wanted Teofimo Lopez, and now it’s Steve’s turn to prove he can cause an upset. We know we won’t be the favourites, but we also know Steve Claggett can surprise a lot of people.”

But it’s clear that as the fight progresses, he becomes easier to hit. That’s where Steve Claggett’s pressure always comes into play. He ends up breaking his opponents, and I believe, especially with 12 rounds to work with, Lopez will break down towards the end of the fight.”
