Man United called up teenage starlet Jim Thwaites to first-team training on Wednesday.

Manchester United are now gearing up for a very difficult Premier League game against Brighton tomorrow. The match will not be easy, with the South Coast club looking great in their opening match against Everton.

Erik ten Hag’s side also go into this game with a win under their belt, so it’ll be an intriguing match.

Before the game, the lads have been working hard in training, with a surprise inclusion involved in Wednesday’s session.

The Manchester Evening News report that teenage starlet, Jim Thwaites, was called up to the first-team training session ahead of the aforementioned Brighton match.

By our reckoning, this is the first time that Thwaites has been called up for senior United training, which will be a huge morale boost for the player.

Thwaites is a midfielder by trade and he was brought up to the session to make up the numbers. The young man is considered to be among the hottest prospects at the club currently.

Thwaites predominantly played for the U16 last term, though he did make nine appearances for the U18s, scoring an important goal against Derby at that level. He also played a couple of times for the U21s off the substitutes bench.

This season, Thwaites is expected to play a large role for the U18s as he looks to make that jump up on a permanent basis.

It’s always tough to gauge exactly how quickly these guys will adapt, particularly as they’re still so young. However, this will be a huge confidence booster for Thwaites, who will have no doubt relished the opportunity to play with some of the best footballers on the planet.
