Challenger Charlie Edwards (19-1, 7KO) and European bantamweight champion Thomas Essomba (13-8-1, 3KO) will clash tonight at the York Hall in Bethnal Green, live on Channel 5.
The Wasserman Boxing event is titled ‘Family Feud’ due to Charlie’s younger brother, Sunny, occupying the opposite corner as Essomba’s manager.
Edwards and Essomba have already clashed at the presser midweek due their heated history having argued on social media after Charlie was goaded by the Cameroonian for being floored by Julio Cesar Martinez in 2019. Edwards is desperate to make him pay for his comments but Essomba promises he won’t be leaving the York Hall without his blue belt.
