Tyler Herro, a key player for the Miami Heat, spoke candidly about the possibility of transitioning to a bench role in the upcoming 2024-25 season. Herro has been a consistent starter, having begun 107 of 109 games over the past two seasons.

“Whatever they say I am, that’s what I am,” Herro stated during Heat media day. “Y’all can say I’m a starter, I’m off the bench. We’re going to let the best coach in the league [Erik Spoelstra] decide.”

The 24-year-old guard emphasized his commitment to the team’s success, regardless of his role. “I’m willing to do whatever it takes to win a championship,” he added, showing his team-first mentality.

Last season, Herro made significant contributions to the Heat, averaging 20.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in 33.5 minutes per game.

Coach Erik Spoelstra and President Pat Riley will ultimately make the decision on Herro’s role. Their track record suggests they will prioritize what is best for the team’s overall performance.

In previous seasons, Herro has displayed a knack for rising to the occasion. His performance during high-pressure moments has made him a fan favorite in Miami.
