Third-ranked UC Irvine bounced back against CSUN, No. 5 Hawai’i had to go the distance to beat UCSB — which got 32 kills from Geste Bianchi — top-ranked Long Beach State won its 10th in a row, second-ranked UCLA swept visiting No. 6 Stanford, and the MIVA had two upsets in NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball Saturday.
In the Pro Volleyball Federation, Omaha swept Vegas to keep pace with first-place Atlanta, which did the same to San Diego.
There are no men’s matches Sunday. Monday, Central State of the SIAC plays Warner, there are no matches Tuesday, and on Wednesday there are two two in Conference Carolinas, King at North Greenville and Lees-McRae at Belmont Abbey.
The Pro Volleyball Federation is off Sunday with the Atlanta Vibe headed to the Grand Rapids Rise on Monday and the Omaha Supernovas going to the San Diego Mojo on Saturday.

UC Irvine (16-7, 5-1 Big West) was upset the day at No. 16 CSUN (11-12, 2-4). But back at home the Anteaters won 25-22, 25-21, 30-28 and hit .429, almost three times better than in the previous match. Hilir Henno led with 16 kills, hitting .429, and had two assists, an ace, four blocks and five digs. Nolan Flexen had 14 kills, hit .440, and had three block and three digs. Top-ranked Long Beach State (20-1, 6-0 Big West) won 26-24, 25-19, 25-19 at No. 17 UC San Diego (11-12, 3-4) as Simon Torwie had seven kills in 11 errorless attacks, three aces, two digs and two blocks, one solo. Hawai’i (20-4, 3-3 Big West) held off visiting UC Santa Barbara (7-16, 0-7) 25-21, 26-24, 23-25, 21-25, 15-12. Louis Sakanoko led the Rainbow Warriors with 15 kills, hitting .306, to go with two assists, an ace, seven digs and six blocks, one solo. The French freshman, who is in because Spyros Chakas was lost for the season, has had 72 of his 112 kills in the last five matches.Alaka’i Todd and Guilherme Voss, who had six blocks, had 12 kills each. Voss did not have an error in 16 attacks.
UCSB’s Gesti Bianchi, a 6-6 junior from Laguna Beach, California, who had a total of 53 kills last year, had 32, giving him 379 for the season. Bianchi hit .300 and had an assist, two blocks and eight digs. Ben Coordt had 16 kills, hit .333, and added an assist, two blocks and nine digs …

Omaha (10-4) played in front of another big crowd, this time 10,315 in the CHI Health Center, as the Supernovas rolled to a 25-19, 25-17, 25-21 sweep of the visiting Vegas Thrill (5-10).
Brooke Nunevillle the Supernovas with 11 kills, an ace, eight digs, an assist and two solo blocks. Paige Briggs had eight kills, an ace, 10 digs and a block assist. Tori Dixon, who had five kills, had 12 blocks, five solo, and Hristina Vuchkova had seven kills with no errors in 13 attacks. Setter Sydney Hilley had 35 assists, 11 digs, four block assists and a kill.
Hannah Maddux had six kills for Vegas and added an ace and three solo blocks. Layne Van Buskirk, Berkeley Oblad and Kenna Sauer had five kills each …
The Atlanta Vibe (11-4) swept San Diego (3-7) 25-17, 25-17, 25-21. Leah Edmond led with 12 kills, five digs, an ace and two solo blocks. Anna Lazareva had nine kills, an ace, six digs and two solo blocks. Marlie Monserez had 35 assists, eight digs, a block assist and a kill.
The Mojo got six kills from Lindsey Vander Wiede, who had five digs and three blocks, two solo. Temi Thomas-Ailara led with 11 kills and had seven digs.
