The USA men have, obviously, a lot to figure out after losing to Canada in four sets on Saturday to finish the first two rounds of Volleyball Nations League 3-5, including 2-2 in their four matches in Ottawa, Canada.

The USA women, 4-4 after two rounds and with the Paris Olympics roster set, are in Fukuoka, Japan, where they play France on Tuesday and then have a day off before playing the Netherlands. The Americans finish with matches against Italy and Japan before — provided they finish in the top eight — going to the finals in Thailand.

After two rounds of the men’s play, Italy and Slovenia top the 16-team standings at 7-1. Poland, France and Japan are 6-2 and Brazil is sixth at 5-3.

Canada, Cuba and Argentina are all 4-4 and Serbia — which beat Canada on Sunday — is 10th, like Germany, the USA and the Netherlands all at 3-5.

The Americans are off until June 19 when they play Iran in Manila, Philippines, followed by matches against Brazil, Germany and Japan. Should they make it, the finals are June 27-30 in Lodz, Poland.
