The 1960s was a popular time in boxing history when many terrific boxers competed. Three of the most accomplished boxers competing during this decade included Muhammad Ali, Eder Jofre, and Emile Griffith.

Griffith had tremendous success during the 1960s, where between 1961 and 1968, he was a three time undisputed world welterweight champion and a two time undisputed world middleweight champion.

Jofre became the NBA bantamweight champion in 1960 and he would achieve undisputed status in the following years. In total Jofre made 8 title defenses, and he is widely viewed as the greatest bantamweight of all time.

Ali became the undisputed world heavyweight champion in 1964, and he made 9 consecutive title defenses before his boxing license was suspended in 1967, which put him out of action for the remainder of the decade. Ali would, however, make a successful comeback the following decade. Ali is widely recognized as the greatest heavyweight of all time.
