Former Premier League stars Joleon Lescott and Chris Kirkland are among those taking part on Saturday, with hundreds of supporters turning out to show their backing.
Thompson began his career in our Academy, where he spent seven years. After this, the forward forged a career in the Football League, playing for the likes of Tranmere Rovers, Rochdale, Carlisle and Bury.
After he retired, Joe became a regular presence on MUTV and has returned to our Academy to impart advice to the next generation of players.
The 35-year-old has always received the backing of our club during his career, both on and off the pitch, and we continue to support Joe as he looks to fundraise for his ongoing treatment.
