New WBC Ukraine welterweight champion Yaroslav Mykhalushko

Yaroslav Mykhalushko, a 23-year-old Ukrainian boxer from Ivano-Frankivsk city, has won the vacant WBC Ukraine and national Ukraine welterweight titles.

On August 3rd, Yaroslav Mykhalushko (7-0, 6 KO) and Serhii Shvets (8-2, 4 KO), two young prospects from Ukraine, fought for the vacant WBC Ukraine and national Ukraine welterweight titles at the Kyiv Sports Palace.

From the very first round, Yaroslav confidently dominated the ring and actively attacked his opponent.

Serhii Shvets skillfully defended himself against Yaroslav’s attacks and carried out effective counter attacks, however, Yaroslav’s powerful physical pressure yielded its results in the end.

The sixth round was intense and ultimately decisive. After a third knockdown, the referee stopped the fight and 23-year-old Yaroslav won via TKO in six.
