Anthony Martial is back doing some training after a prolonged period out.

Manchester United have been absolutely decimated by injuries all season long. It’s a trend that isn’t going to stop before the summer.

Erik ten Hag has been keen to not use it as an excuse, rather viewing it as an opportunity for other players to come in and leave their mark.

One man who we have barely seen this term is Anthony Martial. This is the second campaign in a row during which the Frenchman has had his campaign blighted by treatment table woes. He will leave this summer. I started to question whether we’d see him out on the Old Trafford turf in United colours ever again.

However, the ex-AS Monaco man has given United a welcome injury boost, with the attacker returning to first-team training in some capacity after many months sidelined.

Ten Hag has since returned Martial has only partly returned to the senior setup, which is understandable given the fact he has been out for such a lengthy period.

There’s probably zero chance we see Martial in the match-day squad on Monday night, though if the injuries keep up, maybe he could squeeze onto the bench.

It’s a weird situation as everyone knows he’s departing this summer, but United need the strength in depth to finish out the season strongly. At the end of the day, Martial has been here a while now. I’d like to think Ten Hag will give him one last run out at the Theatre of Dreams, so the fans can show their appreciation.
