Man United are set to be given a welcome lift, with Harry Maguire looking good to go in the FA Cup semi-final.

Manchester United’s only chance at silverware comes in the FA Cup final. The way it’s shaping up, this could be the Reds’ second chance in two years to deny their fierce rivals a treble.

First up, though, Coventry. The League One side deserve immense credit for making it this far. They’re certainly here on merit, too. They’ve been excellent in ever single round prior and they’ll be bringing the noise to Wembley this coming Sunday.

The Reds, on the other hand, have a squad that’s decimated by injury. Erik ten Hag has been coping without major players for pretty much the whole season. Right now, it’s the defence that’s looking light in numbers.

Lisandro Martinez, Victor Lindelof, Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans are all sidelined. Harry Maguire has also been dealing with an issue, too, leaving Willy Kambwala as the only 100% fit centre-half at the club.

Former club captain Maguire was dealing with a thigh issue over the weekend during the Bournemouth game, leaving us all worried about his availability for the Coventry match.

However, the Manchester Evening News have provided a positive update on that front, offering United a welcome boost, as the key figure is ‘expected to be fit’ for the FA Cup semi-final vs Coventry.

The Englishman was not visible during recent training pictures, which added further fuel to the fire, though it’s great to hear that he’s going to be fit and available.

The last thing Kambwala needs is to have another inexperienced centre-back starting alongside him at the heart of defence during United’s most important fixture of the season so far. Thankfully, he’ll have Maguire in there alongside him, talking the youngster through the game in front of a packed out Wembley Stadium.
