3x NBA Sixth Man of the Year Jamal Crawford remembers quickly falling in love with basketball when he began playing the sport as a youngster.
(via Run Your Race):
“I started playing on a team when I was 8, and I’ll never forget coach was like, ‘Two line layups.’ And you know kids is 8-years-old, you trying to get it up there. And the first layup I ever did, I took the ball, I went behind my back, and I did a backwards jelly and made it and the kids was looking at me like a spaceship like, ‘Where’d this dude come from? How’d you do that?’ So I played basketball, baseball, football at the same time, but when I touched a basketball, it’s like something just took over me.”
