Conor Benn’s performances have been called into question by the trainer of a fighter he previously knocked out

Benn remains embroiled in a drawn-out battle to get his British boxing license back following his two failed drug tests ahead of his ill-fated fight with rival Chris Eubank Jr. way back in October 2022.

In the run-up to that fight, he had put together an impressive string of results including some swift knockouts of the likes of Chris van Heerden, Samuel Vargas and Chris Algieri.

Since his comeback, he has fought twice out in the United States both times going the distance with lesser-known opponents Rodolfo Orozco and then Peter Dobson.

Speaking to Crypto Casinos, Algieri’s coach has questioned why Benn had such power for those few fights but has now seemingly lost it since returning to the ring, post-scandal.

“Under different circumstances the fight with Chris would have gone differently, look at Manny Pacquiao, an eight time world champion, he dropped Chris several times and every time he got up. All of a sudden, this guy who is not known to be a knockout puncher, knocks him out completely.
