Lawrence Okolie crowned WBC bridgerweight champion in Poland

Londoner Lawrence Okolie won the WBC world bridgerweight title on Friday, May 24 at the Podpromie Arena in Rzeszow, Poland, on a card presented by Knockout Promotions in association with BOXXER, broadcast on Sky Sports and ESPN KNOCKOUT.

Former WBO cruiserweight champion Okolie came out more aggressive from the first bell, using his greater reach and height, and showing that he also has fearsome punching power.

Unbeaten defending champion Lucas’s Rosanzki visited the canvas three times in the first round before Referee Daniel Van de Wiele decided to stop the fight at 2:55.

A former British, Commonwealth, European and WBO cruiserweight champion, Okolie is now a two-division champion having captured the WBC Bridger title.
