Man United could look to upgrade the left-back position, with a move to sign Rayan Ait-Nouri.

Injuries have derailed Manchester United’s whole campaign. It has been a sorry state of affairs in the treatment room at Old Trafford.

Perhaps no singular position has been hit harder than left-back. Tyrell Malacia is someone we haven’t seen all season long, while Luke Shaw has dipped in and out of the team for the duration of the campaign.

As a result, Erik ten Hag could look to invest in that position, in order to deliver some consistency. It would make sense as neither Shaw nor Malacia are trustworthy right now.

According to Jeunes Footeux, per Tribal Football, Rayan Ait-Nouri is being viewed as a possible signing.

United are said to be eyeing a move to sign the 22-year-old Premier League left-back, though the Reds will face significant competition from Manchester City for his signature.

Tribal Football state United view Ait-Nouri as the ideal prospect to fill the role, while a move to the Theatre of Dreams could be appealing, due to the fact he’d have more guarantees about playing time on the Red half of Manchester.

I like Ait-Nouri. I think he’s an excellent fit for this system.

However, money at Old Trafford is known to be tight this summer. The Algeria international would not come cheaply, meaning a large chunk of the budget will be spent on someone who’ll dip in and out of the team when Shaw is fit. Is that the best use of funds right now? I am not 100% sure.
