Man United have joined multiple Premier League sides in the race to sign Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea.

Manchester United have signed one defender in the form of Leny Yoro from Lille, with the young man looking excellent on debut against Rangers last weekend.

The Old Trafford side will now push to complete more transfers, though I wasn’t expecting a second centre-half addition to be high on the list of needs.

According to Football Insider, Erik ten Hag is still looking to add another central defender, with Trevoh Chalobah being eyed.

They state that United has joined the race to sign the 25-year-old Premier League man. According to FI’s Pete O’Rourke, the player will leave his current club, Chelsea, this summer.

United are now ‘racing’ to complete a deal, as the Stamford Bridge club look to force Chalobah away from London.

Chalobah’s versatility is what makes him such a valuable asset, with the Englishman able to play at both right-back and centre-half. These are two areas United are trying to add more quality in, so if they can fill both holes with one player, it’d be a nice bonus.

With money said to be tight at Old Trafford, the Reds may have to sell before they can buy, which is less than ideal in a scenario where several clubs are rushing to complete a deal for Chalobah. It could mean United are forced into pulling out of this move, as it doesn’t look like any big exits from the Theatre of Dreams are imminent.

In terms of transfer fee, Chelsea will likely receive less than typical market value for Chalobah, as they’ve made it so clear he will be sold.

Do you think a Man United move to sign Trevoh Chalobah would make sense? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
