Several players within the Man United dressing room are said to be questioning the decision to bring in Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta.

I hate using the word, but over the last few years, that Manchester United dressing room has grown in toxicity. It’s a less than ideal environment to win major honours and it’s partly why this club is struggling on all fronts right now.

I know Erik ten Hag has his faults, but I feel confident in stating that most managers would struggle under the current circumstances.

Sadly, it doesn’t look like these player power issues are letting up soon. That’s if the latest information from the Manchester Evening News is proven to be accurate.

According to their latest information, several United players are said to be ‘unconvinced’ by Reds star, Rasmus Hojlund. So much so that they’re ‘reluctant’ to pass the ball to the player…

Hojlund has scored one goal in 10 games since returning from injury, though he has received very little service.

A United squad member told an MEN confidant that players are ‘seeking alternative solutions’ rather than passing to Hojlund in the final third…

The MEN names Marcus Rashford as someone who has ‘bickered’ with Hojlund on the field on occasions this season.

Honestly, I hate this type of media story, but it feels like there could be some truth behind it. Hojlund has barely been given any service at all this season, which leaves me worried.

Again, it just comes back to player power. There are far too many overinflated egos within that dressing room and it leaves me majorly concerned for the future.

For what it’s worth, I actually rate Hojlund highly. He always puts in the effort, leads the line well, is a lethal finisher and his hold-up play is solid. We also have to remember that he’s still a kid in footballing terms. The Dane has so much developing to do yet and I truly do believe he’ll morph into a well-rounded striker capable of scoring goals galore.

I genuinely do hope United keep the faith in Hojlund as there’s a top player in there.
