Queensberry defeat Matchroom 5-0

Frank Warren’s stable of fighters excelled in the Arabian Peninsula last night, June 1, as all five of his chosen ones triumphed over Matchroom’s.

Featherweight sensation Nick Ball was crowned world champion, Daniel Dubois seized the IBF Interim World heavyweight title, and Zhilei Zhang knocked out the fearsome Deontay Wilder.

Willy Hutchinson vs Craig Richards

On the big card “Queensberry vs. Matchroom 5 vs. 5,” at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Willy Hutchinson (18-1, 13 KOs) scored a unanimous decision victory over the former world title challenger Craig “The Spider” Richards (18-4-1, 11 knockouts).

With this victory Hutchinson won the World Boxing Council’s Silver light heavyweight title, 116-112, 117-111 and 119-109.

Nick Ball vs Raymond Ford

Liverpool’s Nick “Wrecking” Ball defeated American Raymond “Savage” Ford by split decision.

27-year-old Ball pressed the action and outworked Ford during the first half of the fight.

Ford broke Ball’s nose in the seventh round and improved down the stretch, showing his heart of a champion.

The scores were 115-113 Ford, while 115-113 and 115-113 for Ball saw him pick up the WBA World featherweight title.

With this victory, Ball raised his record to 20-0-1, with 11 knockouts, while Ford is now 15-1-1, 8 knockouts.

Hamzah Sheeraz vs Austin Williams

On the big card “Queensberry vs Matchroom 5 vs 5”, at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, World Boxing Council Middleweight Silver champion, Hamzah Sheeraz (20-0, 16 knockouts), notched an 11th-round TKO victory over #5 ranked Austin “Ammo” Williams (16-1, 11 KOs).

Williams rocked Sheeraz in the first round, but Hamzah found the range and dominated Williams, thereafter.
