Poland, despite the strong effort to keep the score close, found themselves overwhelmed by the offence of their rivals. USA got back on the winning track and remain in strong contention for the final showdown.
Next up was an intense East Asian matchup between Japan and China. In a display of skill and strategy, the Chinese team left no room for doubt as they swept Japan aside with a 3-0 (25-14, 25-14, 25-17) triumph.
Right from the first serve, China asserted their dominance, leading on all fronts of the game. Despite Japanâs spirited effort to mount a comeback, they found themselves consistently outmatched by the offensive onslaught and solid defence of the Chinese squad, which secured their fourth win out of five matches.
European squads took centre stage, as Croatia took on Ukraine in the third match. With both teams hungry for victory, every point was fiercely contested.
Ukraine proved to be the stronger force in the contest, clinching a hard-fought 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 26-24) win, improving their win-loss record to 4-1, while Croatia faced a setback, dropping to 3-2 in the tournament.
In the final match of the day, Iraq pulled off a stunning upset against Canada with a scoreline of 3-1 (25-18, 23-25, 25-11, 25-23). Despite Canada holding a promising 3-1 record prior to the match, the North American side faltered against the Asian team, which only managed one victory in four matches.
